I was wondering if anyone has used a manual or electronic exhaust cut out on the msp? I was thinking about buying a electronic cut out and having it welded to my corksport exhaust for the track and when i need a lil extra power. Any suggestions on how to mount it or where to mount it?

The search function at the top right is an excellent feature on this forum. This question has been asked a million times.

The answer is: yes, exhaust cut outs have been used. Velocifero has one, before his cat.

i built a custom downpipe when i did my turbo build and welded on in on the bottom of the dp, only thing thats before it is the flew pipe due to room...

i dynod it adding 19whp open compared to my 3" GHL closed... was quite impressed...

its cool because it can shoot flames when shifting and revving and such...

I love mine. mostly used at low speeds around parking lots and such, but I do use it open for most autoxing if there is no sound restriction. Tons of fun in parking garages too. And the flames of course, its cool cause I get a flame out the cutout then another out the tail shortly after. I'll probably put one of these on every car I own from here on out. You can have it quite or loud as hell. I got mine form DMH Performance and I highly recommend them, great product and I have not had a single issue with it in almost two years installed. I didn't see too much of a power increase with it open verse closed because I removed the highflow cat already. Once I have a s-pipe solution then I am going to move the cutout forward and put the cat back in place, then I am positive I'll see a difference power open vs closed. Just logic

yeah, my beef with them when I was shopping was the rocker switch was horrible that comes with thier kit, very ricer. The DMH rocker is much more suited for keeping a clean stock appearance.

well it is kinda big and ugly but when you push it opening it turns green and when you close it its turning red. i put mine down in the pocket by your left knee i looks good there too.

VS

DMH

The DMH comes with a Flow Tech Race Ready y-pipe for $20 more ($199 shipped total w/ y-pipe) and the QTP you still need to source one and they can range from $40 to $80 depending on quality and namebrand. Also notice how the flange of the DMH has elongated bolt holes that give you a little room for positioning just right which came in handy for me. I think I have a photo of my switch installed. BRB

crappy cel phone pic, but you get the idea. Very clean stock look if that is what you're into.

So if your car is on is it always open? By cut it off do you mean shortened it or removed the rocker switch from the assembly?

i cut off the toggle switch that came with it and wired into my Ignited switches i have.. they are toggle switches also so it works the same just looks prettier.. and no i only open it when i want it to be crazy loud or when i autoX.. but its big tickets up here if you get caught with it open so it stays closed most of the time

Ignited the company, not like my ignition switch or anything
