Anyone have the SSAFC V.3. Just looking for some feed back. I want to go with bigger injectors rather than adding an extra injector with the MPI.
Thanks for any info

I think they were having tunning or wiring issues with it, Platinum just got it installed. He wasn't happy with it at first but then he said it started working and now it's great.

Only PlatinumMSP has the v3 working. All the units have to be sent back for hardware changes. The V3 has atleast 8 more wires than the V1&2 that I can think of off-hand. Unlike the non-timing versions, the V3 intercepts the signal from the Cam and Crank Angle sensors.

and the V2 has what ? 5 - 6 ?
just trying to make an estimate of how complex this thing is to install.. to see what am i getting myself into.
other than the wires, on the V3, i assume you got to plug in a vac line right?
6+8 thats 14 wires and a vac line..am i correct ?
anything else?

I have been considering going with the V3 also. I currently have V1 and dont have any issues(at least in the warm months, LOL) But i do have a spare set of WRX 440s sitting around that I wouldnt mind putting in. I am just waiting on more feedback etc etc.

here's the deal - the units were tested and sold in small numbers back when DSMConvert was selling the AFCs. they sort of fell by the wayside for a few years and weren't sold until i asked split second whether or not they'd still make them. in that time, some MSP specific changes to the units were forgotten about and the ten we sold were sent out without them. split second is altering every unit and sending out new directions with every new and reworked unit.

Sounds awesome Ken! Thats good news and sounds like a simple enough solution, no biggie. I am sure I will order a V3 someday. I need to get my V1 remapped sometime..LOL.

3-they surely come with a supermap right? does the supermap have timming already pulled a little or is it stock timming?

fr0st- I think the final wire count on the V3 is 14-16. The instructions are very straight forward and include the Pin# aswell as wire color. You can buy a vac line from Autometer to hook into the AFC.

i just bought 30' of 4mm sillicone vac line.
does the V3 need someting else???
to the ones who would know.
does the V3 come with a timming map already "adjusted"(sorta) of is it plain stock timming?
because it does come with the supermap so i assume they not only adjusted the air/fuel but might have adjusted the timming too??

I would use a hard line, but as long as you can keep the vac line unpinched you'll be fine.

mark from split second told me that my unit has less wires than before so mine should be less than the original 14? i should be like the other person with thwe working one...well not yet its on its way here now.

you mean conventionnal vac line?
if so, no problem..

would there be any big difference if say i were to route the line to my boost gauge line? instead of routing through thr firewall and then to the line?

I just ran mine threw the firewall. Its not that hard and you only need about 3 ft of vac line :)

Hard as in the clear plastic line Autometer supplies for boost/oil pressure/etc gauges. Thats what I used on my car and CitizenPro's.
As far as tapping into the boost gauge line, thats basically what I did. My AFC and boost gauge tee off the brake booster vac line. No issues with it.

my boost gauge is of the intake mani.. on top where the little U-hose is.. i tee'd off from there.. i guess i could tee-off my boostgauge too.
