It's supposed to be a full redesign, but it does certainly look like a facelift. A major one, but definitely not an entirely new vehicle. I wonder where it's debuting. Chicago?

I've never considered the FX a good looking vehicle. This version is much worse. Love the interior and engine though.

About the 2009 Infiniti FX
The all-new second-generation Infiniti FX is designed to offer exceptional levels of power, refinement, safety and driving exhilaration. Created as a fusion of sports car and SUV (http://www.nihoncar.com/en/news-753-2009+Infiniti+FX+Makes+World+Debut+at+Geneva+Motor +Show.html#) utility, with head-turning styling and an advanced sports sedan platform, the new FX is a showcase of Infiniti’s design and technology leadership.
Along with its dramatic, aerodynamic body structure and sporty FM (Front Midship) platform, the new FX features a extensive list of available equipment and technology designed to create an exciting and rewarding driving experience – including a new 390-horsepower 5.0-liter 32-valve DOHC V8 or advanced V6 engine (V6 details to be released later), 7-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control and available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.
The new Infiniti FX also offers a wide range of available safety technologies, including:
-Intelligent Brake Assist (IBA), which provides forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking
-Lane Departure Warning/Lane Departure Prevention system, which help keep the vehicle in its travel lane
-Intelligent Cruise Control (Full Speed Range), maintains a pre-set distance with the vehicle ahead at speeds between 0-90 mph
-And the industry’s first application of Distance Control Assist (DCA), which helps reduce the stress of driving in heavy traffic by intuitively helping to release the throttle and apply the brakes to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead
The 2009 Infiniti FX’s trademark performance characteristics are enhanced with a refined 4-wheel independent suspension and large 4-wheel disc brakes with available opposed-piston brake calipers. A new, available FX Sport Package includes a Continuous Damping Control (CDC) suspension, Rear-Active Steer and 21-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.
Inside, the new FX interior provides a warm, modern, inviting environment highlighted by a driver-oriented cockpit with available sport seating and advanced audio, navigation and entertainment systems – including an 11-speaker Bose audio system, Infiniti Intelligent Key and Around View Monitor system.

RUINED. F'KING RUINED. I'm very bummed. An FX45 was a car that I dreamt of owning one day. Now you couldn't give me one. Infiniti improved every other car they have and screwed up my favorite.

it took me a few weeks of seeing the official pictures, but i kinda like it now. the only thing that's still a little weird are the kinks in the headlights, but overall, i'd rock it.

I think I agree. I'm kind of back and forth, but the headlights are definitely the sticking point.

I wanna see it in person before my final judgement. Remember the latest EVO? It took some time to grow on us, now I don't read "oh, it is fugly" thread replies on it :D
One thing is for sure: Did they get a Ford designer to push for the fender vents? Ewwww! Those need to go!

i like the side profile.
at the greddyfest a lowered fx35 was there. apparantly it was packing a twin turbo setup under the hood, and was featured in that turbo magazine.
it looked gorgeous lowered, and from the looks of the new FX it would too

We've just gotten confirmation that Infiniti will equip its European FX series crossover with the 330 hp, 3.7-liter V6 (VQ37VHR) and it's slated to make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show next month.
Infiniti has decided to only offer the 3.7-liter V6 on its range of vehicles abroad, and there are no plans to bring the FX37 Stateside.
Infiniti's crossover will be available in both FX37 GT and FX37S versions, with 0-60 times in the 6.8-second range and a top speed of 145 mph. Standard equipment includes 20-inch alloys, Scratch Shield paint, all-wheel-drive, xenon headlamps and a seven-speed automatic gearbox controlled via steering wheel-mounted paddles. The FX37S comes equipped with 21-inch wheels, sports seats and Continuous Damping Control.

Yeah, but I don't think the fugly to fast ratio is enough to cause me to purchase one.
As far as I know, there has only been one fugly car that has been fast enough for me to ignore fugly.. And that car is the Enzo.

I don't know. I liked the EX at first, but I've been seeing a lot of them in person, and they have pretty awkward proportions and lines. I don't think either one is good-looking.
