View Full Version : Speed3 Cosmic Blue or Sunlight Silver?

I finally made my decision to get a Speed3 and thought Silver was the color. The last 3 cars I've had have been silver because of the ease of keeping it looking good, and not showing the scratches. I am really liking the Cosmic Blue too. My dealer has both and have to let them know Monday morning. Please let me know how these colors are holding up. I know the clearcoat scratches white and shows up real bad on darker colors. I need a little help with making my decision. Please post any pics you have of either color. I have not seen the Blue in person yet.
Thanks

blue... only color unique to ms3, discontinued for 08.5

oh, and I would do a poll so its easier to see results

I agree with Falcon the Cosmic blue looks amazing and will be unique to our version due to the discontinuation.

In hindsight, I would've gotten cosmic blue instead of sunlight silver. I wanted a sleeper car and something that doesn't show dust much so Red and black were out. But internet pictures (on websites or via jpegs) just don't give the cosmic blue it's "true" form. And it looked much better when I saw one on the road than on the computer. And the fact that it's a MS3 exclusive color means it's that just much more unique.

But in the future I'll probably have my car painted a custom color anyway. So it'd be unique to me anyway.

Actually, the Cosmic blue is not an exclusive color at all. Toyota has used it on their Sienna minivans and Matrix for 2-3 years now. Its also seen on Honda S2000's and Lexus also uses that color.

For me the only two choices would be Black mica which I think is the ultimate color since it simply states "I'm a badass mf'er" almost Terminator like heheheh and the new Crystal White..

The white and black represents the polar opposites that this car represents.

Cosmic blue. Too many silver cars out there already.
Blue was my first choice but I did not want to wait so I ended up with black.

It really depends on what your goal is. If having a the fastest MS3 is a goal, then obviously Silver is the answer! Everyone knows silver is faster than blue(drive2)

i just like the blue because its different and has a nice undertone to it. it makes people double look when they see it. I almost got a silver one both are cool

All kidding aside, I do have the silver. It seems to get rock chips easier than any car I have had before. I don't know if it is just mine, but it is kinda sad how easy it chips.

I say go look at them in person, it will change your perspective. In fact, I wasn't even considering CB until I saw it in person.

I wasn't feeling Cosmic Blue until I went to the dealership and then I immediately fell in love. Was originally going to go Silver to compliment my wife's Subaru, but couldn't pass up the CB they had on the lot.

I say neither.. To me a car invokes emotion and its just like a girl, you have to want to wake up looking at it everyday and be breathless everytime. Its gotta make you WANT to clean it and baby it.. and lemme tell ya, Black Mica will do that to you and yes its tough to keep clean but like a beautiful women, it pays to pay attention. It is in my opinion the perfect color that just growls deep and says, I am badass, go away you weenie honda or I will eat your plugs for lunch... But you better be a good boy and pay some serious attention to me or I WILL make you pay.. Do what I ask and you will never go anywhere else for your fun..

White is just like the girl next door that is sweet, pure and an all around wonderful girl with the pure complexion, beautiful hair, low maintenence attitude.... and then you get her in the bedroom and LOOK OUT! woooohoooo!! The best of both worlds, the kind you fall in love with instantly and do silly stupid things and you walk around with a shit ass grin on your face all day long because you KNOW what you have..

I had the same choice to make between cosmic blue and sunlight silver. I chose silver because I had a '91 Taurus wagon that was almost the same blue as cosmic blue and was hit by 3 people who said they never saw the car until it was too late. I have heard some people complain about paint quality, but I am very impressed with the flowout of the silver paint on my car. The stock wheels are a very good match for the silver as are the calipers. You could accent the silver with any color wheels or accessories just like a white car. Ultimately, its what you picture in your driveway that will do it for you.
Good Luck,

that's not a very good reason. if there was a hideous color (like puke green or something) would you still say the same thing simply because it was unique to the MS line?

Just like types of cars, different colors say something about one's personality. Red is clearly for the extrovert that likes getting as much attention as possible. All things being equal, probably the youngest of the bunch... Black is for those who baby the hell out of their car and don't mind washing it every week... or more. They're usually the strong, silent type. Silver owners tend to be the most practical of the bunch... while still having a wild side to them. Lastly, CB owners are almost the opposite of the red crowd. They're usually a bit older... most likely with a wife and kids... while their car can crush most of the cars in the neighborhood (the camrys and volvos of the world) it blends well enough to keep the dirty looks down to a min.

I used to not like CB, but the color really grew on me... I had the choice between the CB and BM, and I chose BM but I wish I went with the blue. But if I had the choice today, I would wait for the metro gray

Go red baby, grey and blue are boring.

Personally, I'd go for the silver. I looked at both colors in person outside in sunlight and have to say the blue just doesn't really fit this car. Something that's as sporty as the MS3 should have some more vibrant colors, and the blue just looks like a denim blue metallic.Hell, I'd get the red before I got that blue.
