my lights in front are little bit sand blasted from sand (duh) on the road..

you guys ever heard of this ? putting a counpound with a a waxing circular eletric thingy ( sorry,i lack sleep) and you buff them into crystal clear beauty like there were new..

i've seen someone who done it, i saw the before and after but not the process.. is this true? is it good?

what do you use? for tool and for counpound product ?

Sand, polish the crap out of it. Get the smallest grit sandpaper available. Just my guess, I've never done it. They also have kits for this type of thing in autozone/ advanced auto parts.

Mine are also off colored with what looks to be small pits all over them. Will buffing them remove these pits as well ?

what we use is a buffer, ok we tape around the headlight so we dont have to be carefull around the paint (buffers are known to rip paint off if the angle of the pad is wrong) and we use three stages of compound and then we hand wax the light at the end to protect it from the sunlight, i will tell you all how to do it.
1) first tape the car around the light
2) you can uses 3M Scuff-it (PN06013) or you can wet sand the headlight ive done it both ways but i prefer to use Scuff-it if you went sand it use 1000 grit black sand paper.
3) next you use this white'ish color compound (black bottle) and you buff the head light with this compound. once agian 3M (05973)
4) you switch to another compound and once agian buff the headlight with this compound too i always wipe off the haze left by the other compound with a paper towle doesnt have to be perfect. this compound is a gray color and is less harsh on the light and begins removing the scratches made by the Scuff-it or wet sanding, its called "Foam polishing pad glaze dark" 3M (05996)
5) last but not least we use this wax called hand glaze its body magic but you can use any brand but it fills and removes swirls

thats how we do it and it always comes out perfect just becareful with the buffer and tape the car off its not a bad idea to lay a blanket over the hood and winshield of the car because it slings the compound and make sure you wash off the comound and the lights. hope this helps.

I had some hazing on my headlights aswell. It wasn't horrible, but definitely noticable. I purchased the headlight cleaner from Autozone, it comes with like 5 adhesive buffing pads (with some kind of compound on them) and flat drill accessory for use with a power drill (no more than 1200rpm to be safe). After I use the buffing pads (made a big difference) I proceeded to use McGuires PlastX for a finishing touch and the end result was awesome!! I am very happy with how my headlights look now, almost new (minus a few scratches that would probable require wet sanding)!! Check out the before and after pics of my headlights. It was dark when I did this so I hope the pics are good enough.
