MS3 Hood Weight

Yes this topic has been beaten to death a while back and we never got a definitive answer as to why the hell the hood was so heavy so Im curious to know if things have changed in the last 6 months...

steel hood plus 10 lbs of plastic ducting plus a fire insalation blanket it all ads up.granted i would like to have had phnumatic rams from the factory but i do now.

It's 38 lbs and change you should try weighing other hoods.

My 350z had an aluminum hood. We had a small hail storm and the damage was so extensive that the entire hood needed replaced (really,really expensive) while the rest of the car had only about $100 of damage. I won't even get into the dents that kicked up stones left. Shoot, I'm happy for a heavy steel hood.
