I am not sure if anyone has mentioned this and I tried to look for a thread (I didn't do a huge search though sorry, no time)but was unable to see one on this. I have been hearing a thump type noise near the back of my car when I back up. Anyone know what this might be or have experienced this? Thanks for any input....if it keeps up I will bring it in of course. Happy New Year everyone! Still lovin' my ride....one year and 3 months later....(burnout)

Tell us more. Is it a one bump at the start of backing up or?? Is it related to one side? Does it only do it once at first backup and not the remainer of the day? Help us help you. Ed

Well, it does not always happen and and seems to be one side and it's only when backing up that I have noticed it...kinda when i first start backing up. It's not that the car is cold necessarily. Thumpy kinda squeak noise. Not sure how else to describe it...if it happens again I will pay more attention to it to get more detail.

I have this on my 5! When I slowly creep out of the driveway at a slight angle, the back thumps as the last wheel onto the street!(argh)

Yea...now that I think about it I was pulling back out on an angle and that sounds like what you describe...anything to worry about? Have you asked the dealer? I will next time I am in.

The old adage of remove bowling ball from trunk?

Not to be a jerk, but actually, is everything tight back there? Could be something innocent like a tire jack that's not tied down or something.
