I just purchased my new MSpeed3 and it doesn't have nav or iPod control. Seeing how i like to have the id3 tags, and wouldn't mind having nav as well, i have been thinking about a nice double din unit. I've been researching the mounting kits and the Metra looks ok, though it seems to leave a little gap at the top.

So, i was wondering if anyone has tried this and if it would work?

I found it on japanParts' website as what seems to be a factory mazda part (not sure).

Thoughts?

wow, first time I've seen that part. Looks nice. Of course it's probably incredibly expensive.

Yeah, it's like $150. That's why i want to find out if anybody has used it, or know if it fits before i spend the dough on it.

One of our boys up in Canada used that piece. It ended up looking really nice IMO. I had the pics saved, but my HD fried. I know he had that strip just above the stereo painted orange. Anybody know who that is/was?

i installed it but didn't get any pics. I will get some this weekend sometime though.

The silver ended up not really matching the dash color of the speed3. I'm going to paint it black to just flatten it out a bit.. I'll see if i can get the pics up this weekend though.
