take off the grill... i wanna paint my mazda logo black so i assume i have to take off the grill to take off the logo right?

i see screws on top but once there off i still feel resistance to take out the grill.. is there a clip somewhere i don't see that would break if i pulled?

or maybe another screw?

There are .. four? .. clips that hold the grill down along with the two screws on either side, up top. I have to take my stock grill off every spring when I de-winterize, and I still can't remember how many stupid clips there are.

Anyhoo, just give a yank and it'll pop off.

remove the 2 side screws, 2 clips (those 2 piece kine you gotta dig out) that hold it horizontally, then just yank it up and out

BTW, You don't need to remove the grill to remove the front emblem...It's just stuck on there with double sided tape....Just get some floss, work it under the emblem and pull it off....It's really easy, just don't pull too fast or too hard...

feels like plastic to me. sand it really good first, clean with rubbing alcohol or something of the sorts, then primer and spray paint, then clear coat. do multiple light coats to prevent running and spray evenly from end to end, meaning, spray off the logo for a bit to ensure even covereage

It is plastic...2 coats of primer and a couple coats of paint...Let that cure and add a clear coat made for rims, which will help prevent chips...
