Just installed a TWM STS on my 08MS3GT... pretty easy install, by myself... had one question tho'... what's the purpose of the o-ring near the end of the shifter shaft, both on the oem and TWM replacement? bump-stop of some sort perhaps? does anyone know, or care to hazard a guess?

It is a bumper so the actual shifter doesn't hit the mount. Makes the shifts quiet instead of metal clunking on plastic.

Hello,
We have a winner... ;] It's just to avoid any noise if the shifter contacts the assembly!
Best Regards,

What do I win, maybe a STS?
