I was wondering what everyone thought about the 2008 Lancer. I have my top of the line 2007 Mazda3 with the luxury package. A friend of mine said that I shoulda waited for the 2008 top of the line Lancer. I did my homework and feel I made the right decision buying the Mazda3 but would love to know what you guys think of the Lancer. Please don't hold back. Hehe.

for the price of a top of the line maxda 3 you could get a mazdaspeed3. and i feel that is more worth it then a regular mazda3 but just my two cents. the new lancers are pretty i have not driven or been in one but i have seen a white one and tis pure sex. do what makes you happy and have no regrets is what i say.

I agree with the price. should have gone with a MS3, and if you did this convo would have never arisen...lol

I last car was an '02 Lancer and I was looking at getting an '08 Lancer GTS. It is a nice car, but the price was just wrong. They wanted $21,000 out the door. That is what why I have a MS3 now. For roughly $3,000 more, I got one hell of a fun car.

It depends on what he considers the top of the line Lancer. I mean, when he says top of the line Lancer, does he mean a fully loaded base, or the Lancer Evolution X?

My buddy has a fully loaded lancer gts with the belt drive tranny, while the tranny is interesting its not my cup of tea. Although the BMW like electronic keys are kick ass :) Its good to see mitsubishi do a few things right however the only mitubishi I'd own is the Evo...

Yeah, i like the look of them but I think that the Mazda3 has more in the way of options and other things. The only reason I didn't go with the MS3 is because I have recently got divorced and had to cut my costs. Insurance, and car payment as well as filling up with premium wasn't in my budget. I'm very happy with the M3.

I have been driving my 3 S for about a year and after a nice ride in Tim's Speed I wish I would have gotten the speed. But that is just my opinion.

Before I bought my mazda I test drove an '07 lancer, and i really liked it. It was pretty quick and handled well. But $17,499 was too much. I had $7,000 from selling my jeep and my bank would only loan me $3,000 because I'm under 18. Then I found my baby, 2006 Mazda 3 s 5-dr 15,000miles practically new (compared to my 145k jeep). I drove from boise to salt lake for it, and talked him from 12,400 to just over 10,000. It is more practical for me and I like it better than if i would have gotten the lancer.
