So my 4th Stock MSP headunit finally died on me and i'm out of warrenty so I had to go get a replacement. I bought a Kenwood KDC-MP6025. I installed it, the harnesses and everything looked identical to the stock msp headunit so I just plugged them in. The radio and all the speakers in the car work except for the stock msp sub. Why??? I cant figure it out. I checked to see if the amp still had the light on and yes it does. I checked the connection to the sub itself and yes its still connected. Any ideas guys? This really pisses me off, I need my bumps in the trunk.

Those things have so many issues, did the dealer replace it or did you just get a different head unit?

I dont know if its factory unit is installed like most amps or not.

BUT do you have power on the amp? I mean is the amp on via the remote wire? Is the remote wire on a switchable source? If its tapped into the fuse box make sure its on the right side of the fuse ect ect.

If it was a blown sub it would work but sound like shit, the amp is on so it's working. Go through the head unit options and look for the sub control, I bet it's at 0

its likely to be the sub control option on the head unit

some head units you have to actually tell it that there is a subwoofer....just screw around until you find all the subwoofer options on the headunit...I personally cant stand the way that kenwood lays out their software on their headunits, it might take you a while to figure it out

the RCAs are the only thing I can think of that would cause the subwoofer to not work at all

did you try hooking a battery up to the lead wires and seeing if the sub moves at all from that? brandon's sub started doing the same thing....it looked like the lead wires were connected but wouldnt move with a battery hooked up to it

looks like i hooked up the RCA cables incorrectly... well sorta... i needed to buy male-female RCA connector and plug it in... so yeah i took it to a shop, they charged me $40, and now i got my bumps back
