Phatbox and a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 w/Bose (no nav)

I've been giving the process here a shot:

I gather the files are probably missing the necessary headunit hack for the 08 models. Anybody have any ideas? The Phatbox is unresponsive thus far to a double push of the CD button.

I've given the files here a try: http://downloads.phathack.com/firmware/, the unit responded with a sequence of red and green flashes that looked like a reboot/firmware update to me, I let it run for 10 minutes. Since then the unit has been unresponsive to both the headunit and the reinsertion of a DMS.

I've since loaded the files referenced here:

But the unit doesn't respond to phatbox insertion. Does anybody have any ideas on how to bring her back to life?
