I had been embarrassed for quite some time with my stocker horn.... now, its not that great of a horn to begin with, and ever since i put in the Mental Addiction front mount intercooler kit, its been slightly touching the new A/C fan, so everytime i would use it it would cause this gross, laughable rattly squawk.

So, for christmas my folks got me some Hella Supertone horns. they're the 118dB model, vs the 113dB ones. Used to be the cheap ones were made in india and the nice ones in germany, now they're all made in india. go figure.

Anywho, we got em installed and its a HUGE improvement! I just wish i could have gotten them directly behind the opening on the grill. The lower grill wasn't an option because of the intercooler, and the upper grill i couldn't manage because of the A/C fan on the frontside of the radiator, and just because of the shape of the upper grill itself. I put in the included relay, using both 12 and 14 gauge wire, and also a 20amp fuse for them.

I've got a few pics, just taken with the cell phone (and i haven't figured out the quality settings yet, forgive me).

New ones compared to the stocker:

And, heres my attempt at a video clip for the sound, however it definitely overwhelmed the mic in my phone:

^^^ haha, yeah but i think these are probably an easier job than air horns.

I got em from my parents for christmas, and i think they bought them here:

http://www.autobarn.net/twinsuphorki.html

dunno if theres places with better prices or not. FWIW, that website pictures the horns made in germany, and when my parents got the horns they were dissapointed when they saw 'made in india' and thought they were sent the wrong ones... They're all made in india now. If theres a 300hz and a 500hz, they're the 118dB model, if its 300hz and i think 380hz, then its the 113dB model. The ones from that website are definitely the 118dB ones, even though they're from india.

When we tested the horns after the wiring was done, with the grill of and the hood open, my ears were ringing. Obviously its not so loud with the grill on and the hood shut, but still... its enough!!

EDIT: forcefed, you should do like those guys with the 350z, put a freight train horn in there and drive around filming people falling over from fright when you honk your horns!

I was wondering how I'd get a set of those in the engine bay. Relocating the battery is probably gonna be the easiest. Hmm.... Do I put a new stereo in my car, or this? May sound like a stupid question, but, I am really considering it.
