Mazda 6 ('04) knocking noise right after the start

Hi All,

got a problem with my Mazda 6. Right after I start the car in the morning and accelerate I hear a loud knocking noise comming from the front of the car. I can feel it through the pedal as well. It only happens after the start and then it's ok but I am a little bit worried about it. If you guys have a clue of what is causing this noise please let me know. My Mazda is a 2.0 diesel (120 PS), produced 12/2004.

I get this same thing with my V6. I have no idea what it is. I can get mine to make the noise at really low speeds with i'm on and off the throttle.

Make sure your engine is warm, and if its really cold drive slow until its up to temperature... If that doesnt help i would maybe check the injectors.

I had the same problem.. Ended up throwing a rod bearing, now the engine is scrap. 1,000 miles over the warranty and they won't cover it. Get it checked right away!

How would you even check that without taking everything apart. I think mine is more clutch related since I have the CM Stage 4 installed with the Fidanza.

not sure of the deisel engine problem. it al
most sounds like its sludged up and not getting oil properly.

as for v6, the tick they have it usually top end, related to the cams. usually its an adjstment.
