I'm in the process of putting together a turbo kit for my P5, and will be doing a custom FMIC and intake setup. I'm looking at pretty small cores, since most of the people here run about 220-250whp max, and the guys with the built motors and big turbos go custom anyway.
One of the best sized cores (IMHO) I found is a bar and plate 21x5.5x2.5", with 2" inlet/outlet. This flows enough for about 300hp. Piping would be 2" stainless steel, either plain or high-temp painted, with real silicone couplers and T-bolt clamps - I hate the cheap generic eBay couplers. This is one part I won't cut corners on, I've learned to hate boost leaks and fixing them over and over.
Powdercoating would be up to the buyer, although I guess I could do it locally as well. BOV mounting would be up to the buyer as well, but I could do that myself also, with a BOV of your choice. I'm still getting the final measurements of everything, I would guess right now that the radiator fans can stay stock, but I'm not 100% sure yet. I have a local welder guy with a mandrel bender, so it would probably be as few separate pieces as possible, to eliminate a ton of couplers. I'm also trying to keep the bumper beam in one piece, no hacking away at stock safety equipment.
Anyway, once I have all of this figured out, would there be any interest in people buying kits? This is more of a true performance FMIC kit, less for the bling factor and more for the people who want to go fast. Powdercoating could be available for an extra fee.
If you would be interested, post a price you'd be willing to pay and I'll see if I can make it happen.
