Hey Guy's,
I'm hopefully picking up my P5 on Monday. Silver "02 with 50k miles. I went to look at it yesterday and there are a few things that the dealer needs to fix first. It's a one owner car, but he modified it with a CAI, cat back (which is way too loud), short shifter, after market head unit, and pedals. It's a little more than I'd wanted to do, but oh well. Not much is planned for it besides swapping out the exhaust for something more mellow, tint and different pedals. I'll get pics up as soon as I can.

This will be my daily driver for a while. I'm coming from an 05 Jetta GLI. I'll miss the power and turbo for sure, but I'm hoping to have the car paid off in a year and then pick up a weekend fun car.

Any thoughts on a more mellow exhaust? I'm not too concerned with power output for the above reasons.... I'm thinking Magnaflow or RB. I need to get the car up on jacks first to see what's there.

I have a small photography studio that needs some attention (i.e. $$$). That's more important than the car. I parted it out and am using the money on the studio. Plus the P5 will drop my car payment about $75/month and be easier to haul my gear around. The 2" of extra rear leg room is better for my kids too.......

HEAVY

Not that heavy. A chipped 270 lbft of torque will take care of that.

Maybe so, however like the Subbies they were meant for rallyX. For mstreet racing they need more power than most because of the reinforced frame. That is all I was commenting on. I wasn't trying to down the V-DUBS.

No worries. There is a 400lb difference between the 2 cars. Probably why the P5 felt quick when I test drove it. I don't think either car is really made for racing unless modified quite a bit. None of which I'm interested in with these cars....

Well I picked up the car tonight. Still need to fix a few things. I need to find a nice used MS axle back, or something quiet and subdued. There are a few rattles that I need to investigate also. I also need to find something to polish the headlights. They are scuffed up a bit. It has a short shifter on it now, but I don't like it. I might investigate something else. The foglights are pretty weak so I'll probably replace those with something else.
