the flash is a bandaid, it just advances the timing. the problem with the ecu lies within the fuel maps. they are too damn rich!! you can "help" it by turning the boost up a hair. more boost will lean it out some, however i dont recommend doing that and it wont fix it. you can get a air/fuel controller and lean it out that way, then with supporting mods you can up the boost a little bit (but not much if you want to be safe!) i recommend the second choice!

yea thats what i was thinking cause that car runs rich as hell stock even with the tune i still need to lean it out more, well i will prolly be runnin 10psi from now on any way so that will help out al little untial i get a tune in the begining onf the year(just dont bst over 10psi stock thats what ive heard from eveyone

what mods do you have?

i wouldnt recommend running 10 psi without a tune and supporting mods.

im running 12 psi with all the bolt ons and its tuned. However, im waiting to shoot a hole in the block.

i have a perrin intake thats it,all the people i talked to said 9-10psi would be fine on a stock car

split second AFC or FTC cures hesitation once and for all

sorry i didnt read thats the only mod you have. well, search around the forum if you dont beleive me. do you know what engine you have in your car. its from a regular protege. have you seen the size of the rods? they are tiny!!!!! anyways, people have blown these engines up on stock boost (granted, im sure they were morons and abused it). People have blown it up on all different ranges of boost.

505zoom was putting down 277whp and he is/was on the stock block. He is probably the only one to be so successful with the fisher-price rods though. I have been running 12 psi for about 7-8k miles and i havnt blown mine up either. I would suggest again if you want to run 10 psi and be as safe as your going to be, get the supporting mods (and no a perrin intake doesnt count) and tune the car more on the conservative side.

I can justify that suggestion. Good mod to put on.(drive)

AFC-air fuel control
FTC-fuel timing/fuel control
Both piggy backs works very well on the MSP. The FTC is for someone running higher boost. The split second AFC like I said value for money(mj)(mj)
