View Full Version : replaced WGA, but still have problems

well after replacing the WGA the fuel cut is gone, the car can be really hesitant and sometimes feels like there is no boost being created!
anyone know what else could be a culprit?

Do you have a boost gauge? Could be a vac. line or loose intercooler pipe. It might also be the stock tune on the car.

well after driving the car for awhile last night, I noticed that in 5th and doin about 60mph when i floor the throttle the car does nothing, the rpm's move very slow. there is no change in speed or rpm's for a good 5 seconds then that car will go.
the car is very slow!! my 1986 toyota celica with stock motor that has 250,000+ miles on it is faster!!

When you replaced your WGA did you double check your line for your WGA? Check that line and make sure that it is hooked up correctly and check for a vacuum leak. When I replaced mine, I hooked the line for the WGA wrong and ended up wasting my $ on a turbo thinking mine was crap.

well all i did was unplug the vac line at the WGA and plugged it back into the new WGA! I am just wondering if the problem could be vac leak? boost leak somewhere in the plastic tubes? and if possably it could be my BPV?
Do you have a boost gauge?

Try partial throttle..I bety it feels much better.
If so..you are experiencingthe wonderful "STOCK" MSP tune..Its horribble.

well i know how a stock MSP feels like without the ecu mapped from the dealership, and mine is far from that! there is something still wrong with the system that is giving Me erratic boost!
I can still hear the turbo spool, and it turkeys when i let off the gas! I dont have a boost guage! but really need to get one!

You really need a boost gauge, even if you do fix it how will you be sure? I don't get what the deal of a BC is without a gauge, you need to see the boost so you can see that your car is performing well.

to add more, i just noticed today that i get boost at about 5200rpm? at lower rpm i can hear the turbo spool up but i dont feel it and then at around 5k rpm i get a kick of boost?
i am 100% stumped with this one!

You REALLY need a boost gauge before you can tell what's wrong.
A common problem with the stock intercooler piping is the bung that goes to the BOV from the hot pipe. Check that, because mine cracked on me causing some strange behavior.

I broke my stock hot pipe removing it when i replaced my WGA I currently have the samco silicone hot pipe!
oh and when i do hear the turbo spool but i can feel any boost thats 2nd gear at around 3k!
I have drivin an msp that was 100% stock and ran perfect, i remember gettin boost at around 2500 rpm. im my msp i dont get that boost till around 5k rpm!

He wants us to "Magically" figurew this out from a poor description and no idea of whats going on.
