Let's see if anyone's over 100K yet?
I have an '06 hatch, Black Mica of course, with 30,072 on it. All from work and still loving every time i get in it.

With extortionate downtown parking prices, tuition costs and various other debts, I can't afford to drive all over creation like I want to...
...an '07 hatch with roughly 13.9k after 15 months.

Hells YEAH! c'mon now, he's underground in the underground. i used to have all of his albums, but they all got magnetized along with 15 other albums that people stuck next to subs*sniff* i miss them all. his early stuff was the best compared to his new stuff, but he's still raw when he needs it \threadjack

Yeah, it sucks. I live in Lansing, MI, and work in Auburn Hills, MI. It's 85 miles one way. I get to work from home usually two days of the week, but usually have to go in on the second Sunday of each month for maintenance windows. I'm a network security guy (CSO and firewall admin).
The car has been amazing! It had two back-to-back CELs when it was new, both of which had no effect on me, other than spending some extra time at the dealer (I take it to the dealer for oil changes) those two times (both were known emissions control part problems). Since then, it hasn't had *any* problems, not even minor ones--not even rattles or squeaks. Actually, there was a glove box door buzz when it was new, but that fixed itself.
Having said that, just today my remote trunk release appears to have stopped working. I did have my MAF fail last fall, but I'm 95% sure that was caused by my sucking up a bunch of water through my cold air intake in a deep puddle. That intake is about to be replaced with a Simota short ram intake with heat shield. That little incident cost me $400 for the MAF and reprogramming of the ECU, plus another $100 in rental costs. Ouch.

mazda seems to have picked up their quality of cars lately after what a 2 decade long slump? from what i've seen on CAI, cant you just disconnect a piece and turn it into a short ram? just disconnect the elbow that points it down?
Chibana
02-20-2008, 04:41 PM
I don't think I can with the F2 cold air intake. Besides, the sexy carbon fiber/Kevlar heat shield on the Simota is sexy!
This Mazda3 has been, by far, the most reliable car I've ever owned, and it makes a fantastic commuter car, being practical, fuel efficient on the highway, and a lot of fun to drive. It's quick enough to be fun, has good steering feel and feedback, and handles better than anything else in its class. It's gorgeous, inside and out, too! I get regular compliments from total strangers about my car, at least when it's not covered in salt. :( Last year, I had a woman in a minivan race up to me on the expressway, honk her horn to get my attention, and mouth the words, "I like your car!" This behavior has been fairly typical in the 3.5 years I've had the car. I love this beauty!

My first 07 Speed 3. I owned that for about 6 month and accumulated about 17,00 miles. Got a replacement 07 Speed 3 have had that bout 8 months with 7,000 miles(so low cause i bought a work car). So with the first I was on pace for about 32k a year not bad for a new car huh? Working construction blows on a new car. Especially a nice ass car like a Speed 3.

I've gotten the 'ol "your car is so cute." Which I can't understand because I have a black mica hatch with blacked out emblems. Don't really know what's cute about that, but it's only been from girls. Guys either love my car and think it is really unique looking or hate it because it's a "wagon." Whatever, I love my "wagon." I work at a carwash and I washed a red 3 2.0L (idk what year) and it had 123,xxx miles on it. I asked how it was holding up (it was very clean) and he had nothing bad to say. Just regular maintenance and it drove like a charm.

The only thing that's happened besides a minor fender bender (to my knowledge, I bought it used a few months ago) is something with the axle is fucked, whenever I turn the wheel all the way to the left it makes a clicking noise while accelerating. Checked with a dealer and an independent garage, both said it was something to do with a bearing (I don't really remember). Dealer said about 500 to fix, other place said about 350, and it's not an urgent repair. They said it'll get progressively worse but to get it fixed withing about 6 months. I looked around before buying it and I didn't find any other cases of this happening so I'm thinking it might have something to do with the crash the previous owner was in.
Other than that I just change the oil, put some gas in it, and go.

About to turn 30,000 miles.

You should check the Protégé forum on another server where you will read a message from a Pro owner who has over 187,000 miles on his 2001 with no major repairs. Now that is a good car. I don't drive as much, have 34K on a 2001 Pro.

I think it's pretty sweet that most of us Mazda owners put so many miles on our cars. It just goes to show the types of people that buy them. We like to go out and drive, not to mention all the places that these little cars go.

Mines less than a month old still (3 weeks) and I'm about to hit 600 miles I think it is. It had 45 miles when we left the lot. I drive 5 miles to work (so 10 a day), so 185 miles so far from just work. Doing the math shows I'm doing 370 miles of exemperous driving so far. "Just going for a drive honey, need anything?" is my new favorite phrase.

I drive 350 miles within a week! I'm glad I got this car. I was driving a gas hog Mustang with those miles, and even then sometimes I have to drive out of town for work.

Bought my '04 Black Mica Hatchback in March of 2007 with 27,000 on it. It now is at 67,000! I drive over 100 miles a day/5 days a week, to work, plus weekend trips! I'll be passin' you 100k guys in no time! I love drivin' my 3!
Also have a '04 Black Oynx Mazda 6 (V6) with almost 80,000 miles on it. Bought it from the dealer with 7,000 miles on it in '05. With gas prices getting so high I needed something more economical and got the 3. The wife now drives the 6. Never had any problems whatsoever with eiether (the cars that is!(naughty)).

Update:
I'm about 50 miles away from turning 36,000 in my 2007 M3.
Goodbye warranty. *sniff, sniff* but it was just in time when last week it ended up back at the dealership for a new a/c system (which I had, had it in for twice and was told it was just fine), a new alternator and a new belt and tensioner.
Other than that, $12k worth of body work and glass repairs due to a tree falling on it (insurance covered), regular oil changes, a transmission fluid flush, a replacement wiper blade arm that started rusting this summer (covered by warranty) and a new set of tires it's been great.
Oh, and I hit a raccoon the other day and dented the front bumper cover ... another trip to the body shop is in my future.

105 000 km (60kmiles?) on my 05 gt 3 sets of tires, regular service, brakes, motor mount (wty)
3 crashes repaired and a new windshield my insurance company hates me.
only problem I have is the paint and carpet suck and my rims keep corroding around the center cap but for what i paid and all the fun it is to drive worth every penny
i've had an extra reminder this week as i'm stuck with a focus while mines getting a new front bumper for the 2nd time and man does the focus suck!! please note not one of the accidents has been my fault i suspect my 3 carries a curse anyone know of a good exorcist?

I'm about to hit 117,000 miles in my 2005 5-door (Purchased in March 2005).
Work I've done:
O2 sensor under warranty
3 sets of Tires (still annoyed that the middle set didn't last me), well 4 if you count snow's.
Brake pads/rotors once (replaced both at 105,000 miles, dealer couldn't believe I'd made it that long...).
Wheel bearings (also at 105,000 miles)
No major items what so ever, though the time/cost on the bearings was a bit much to bear.

Did you replace the bearings as a precautionary measure or were they going bad? What symptoms did you have that they were going bad, if that indeed was the case?

Purchased 08 MS3 in March of 08 at 57K currently, 1 replaced motor mount and a chronic cell for ERG flow that the dealership wants $75 to flash the "UPGRADE" to stop throwing celL, on second set of tires, should get another 18-29K on them and it is still FUN & practical.
