Stock CD player skips

I know this may be a dumb question.. but i really know nothing about cars or stereos... but... i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to get the dust out of my stock cd player (besides the cd cleaner thing you buy at best buy) to make it stop skipping over bumps.. and id ont mean huge bumps that could jarr it i mean little ones even the reflectors to divide the street... it is SO frustrating and the dealership was no helpb ecause my car has over 48k miles... any ideas??? (shrug)

i have a 2005 mazda 6... head unit? you mean what kind of cd player do i have? sorry im really not car smart!! if it helps...everything is stock on my car..

i tried the cd cleaner (the cd with the feelers on it to clean the laser) but it still skips... i asked the dealership an d they were no help. they said they couldnt do anything different than what i had done already.
