(ughdance) This is what happens when u race with a cop....

MY friend and i got off today at 6 pm. He wanted to come with me to my friends house for thanksgiving. At the gardenstate parkway, i told him to follow me . 20 minutes in , he calls and says i drive too slow... wtf considering traffic on the parkway... hence he ask what exit to take...i said exit 32... so he went to the left lane and try to pass me....then i saw a cop behind him while he was passing...the cop took the right lane to try to pass my friends STI !.....ALl of a sudden, my friend thought it was a regular car trying to race him so he gunned it with the cop at 65 mph...

i must say, what a show....the cop couldn't pass him...so....i saw red lights flashing and i told myself...what an idiot......the cop got my friend for reckless driving and pacing at 85mph or sumtin....it's like a 6 point ticket....now he's gonna get a lawyer....ughh... he's so pissed that he didnt even want to come to the thanksgiving party.....

i feel like this is my fault.... for inviting him.... but at the same time, it was his actions that got him busted.... oh well....

Now that is one video I'd love to see on youtube!

That would make a good video. However, I dont think it has anything to do with you. He/she may be your friend and everything, but it was kind of stupid to race some random car that wanted around him/her. If I tried to race every car that passed me, I'd probably end up with something worse than a 6pt ticket.

Just tell them lesson learned and to pick their battles a little more wisely next time.

That wasn't your fault at all, it was your friend's bonehead move. You were trying to stay out of trouble, it was his actions that got him caught.

Your friend is an idiot. If he's mad at you about the ticket, he's twice the idiot any of us could ever hope to be, and you'll be better off without him as a friend.

Personal responsibility. That's all I have to say.

called my friend yesterday, his courtdate is in 2 weeks. the total fine he got is $846.09 ....now he's gonna dispute it... i told him he has no chance, but he has a lawyer ... he wants to get the points down to 2 and the fine to 400..... might work if he's real sincere in front of the judge .

considering he's 24 years old, he's insurance now is 4500 a year with 2 points on his licence...imagine + 6 more points... might go up up tp 6k a year !!!!!

then he had a nerve to say..."well, u should have called me and say it was a cop , that way i could have slowed down"... i called him an A hole for that ! wtf...

Good lord, I'm 37 with a good driving record and my insurance for 5 vehicles is less than $2K. They really stick it to a young driver with a fast car.

I disagree, young drivers with fast cars tend to stick it to themselves. This nob drives a $30K+ car spends $4500 a year on insurance but when he gets a legitimate ticket he fights it like he was intrapped. When and if he grows up and doesnt have 6+ points on his license he can afford insurance like the rest of us adults.

The cop is going to say he was pacing him. Than, he tried to intercept to slow the vehicle down to safe speeds before initiating a vehicle stop. Your friend is damn lucky he only got reckeless instead of evading a police officer. He has no chance and just blew money on a lawyer that cant do a damn thing for him. If he goes in there and tries to tell him he thought it was a car trying to race him, do you really think the judge is going to condone street racing? Think again.

BTW, you cant take the blame for stupidity on your friends part my friend.

Well guys, from your feedbacks, there's also a twist on the story...My friend is 24 living with his rich parents...did i mention that his lawyer was his DAD !!!

yea, sucks dont it ;)..i called him up again, he now apologized for blaming me, he was just pissed i guess. Anyways, i told him

(joke)

"i was just downshifting when i saw the cop on my right as you passed by, as soon as i grabed the phone, your sti was so fast that when i try to find you on (my fav 5)(t-Mobile), the cop turned his red lights on" :)

You didnt even have to say that, from the attitude and car involved it went without saying.

He'll get the ticket talked down to at least half and reduced points if any at all...and that is if the cop didn't make any errors while filing his paperwork. When ever you get a ticket no matter if you are at fault, go to court, at worst case scenario, you can talk it down... Most of the time; no points, reduced fine. I'm sure he won't be in too bad of shape considering his dad is the lawyer and hopefully his dad is good...

Fact, lawyers never pay for tickets...at least the ones here in Florida...
I got paced by an airplane, I took it to court just cause, the cop filed his paperwork at he clocked me...I showed the judge my copy of the ticket where it states "paced by aircraft" and I got case dismissed... $0!!! (first)

Wow what an idiot. no offense to you or even him but its people that like to gun it all the time that mess things up for those out there that arent being stupid. He should fight it since he wasnt paced but at the same time he DID stomp on it and now he should pay the price, there is a reason tracks are made.(i dont mean to rant but i am highly against street racing)
