well this is the problem all of the sudden sometimes I would boost and sometimes I wouldn't so of course I thought it was the waste gate actuator so I got the forged WGA and I put it in and the old one was all messed up but the new actuator didnt fix the problem and now it takes a lot so I can go into boost like I'm in 3rd gear flooring it by 5500 rpm I'm only at 3 psi I put it in correct so what do you think could the problem be. Please HELP!!!

vacuum leak?

or bad BPV?

what are you running? any mods?

I know I dont got a vac leak cuz it use to work and then not work before I changed the actuator. I got a Hiboost FMIC, Nology wires, AWR mounts

lol that doesnt mean anything...

check your vac lines and check all of your piping couplers to be sure they are 100% tight..

the couplers on the highboost have been known to wiggle loose every now and then.

is there anything else associated with the boost situation? poor idle, or otherwise?

no other problems do you think it could possibly be the waste gate itself

that would be my next suggestion if there is no issue at idle (which would rule out IC piping). I would still check your vacuum lines though as its easy to check your vacuum lines and in the MSPs vac lines are a notorious weak link.

as far as the internal wastegate is concerned its a lot harder to check.. but I would check the swing arm (that the WGA rod connects to) to make sure it has full range movement.

the only real problem with my idle is when I let it blow off it'll get really low then recover itself

ok that helps...

you have the highboost kit right? I assume youre not running either a dual BPV/BOV setup or the BPV at all? Which blow off valve are you using?

I'm only running the the BOV that the kit comes with

I would double check the BOV on the kit. its set to VTA which usually causes a low idle in the situation youre describing.

if its too loose, it can be letting pressurized air out before you hit 6-7psi as well

but I'm not even getting to 3 psi under full throttle in 3rd gear

so what would most likely be the problem???

i agree with B1GHAM check to make sure your BOV isn't leaking also check into running a bpv/bov setup from what i understand its the only way to go to make sure you have no problems.

I think I found the problem I was sitting with my hood open while my car is at idle and started to hear a hissing noise so I put my ear by the intake manifold and heard it louder so I guess I got a vac leak but how do I find out from which line cuz I checked them and cant find it

soapy water's what i heard of then look for bubbles.

spray some carb cleaner on the suspected line. When the motor injests the carb cleaner your idle will drop, letting you know which line had the leak.

so a vac leak would really cause me not to boost

Do what he says...easiest way...how i do it at my shop. And yes, a vacuum leak will cause the whole turbo system not to function properly.

well I did that and nothing happened and I dont hear a vac leak any more so I dont know what it could be I'm gonna take it to a shop tomorrow to see what the problem is
