Audiolink USB MP3 Player

I am new to the forums and just bought a 2007 Mazda 6 GT. I have found all the info to be really helpful and I love my new car. Of course I want to be able to play MP3's on my stock radio and I have seen a lot of info on the iPod integration, but i had some other questions.

I do not own an iPod and was wondering if anybody had experience with the USB unit and their opinions on it. Or would it be better to just break down and get the Audiolink iPod integration and an iPod.

I have not used the Audiolink, but have heard that it is a good solid unit. I believe the USB function works well with the Audiolink, but i don't know for sure.
