good job on the lawn last week Eddie, but didnt we ask you to leave after you told a bunch of members to suck your dick? Well anyway's I'll see you again after winter when it's mulching season.
That is pretty funny but I'm pretty sure you are talking about edward14725...unless they are the same person...hmmmm...they both seem to spell back without the c....

Thank you sir. It just doesn't make any sense to me to spend hundreds of dollars for basicly a louder muffler that gives you a couple horses when you can buy a used turbo back here on the forum for a couple bucks more which will give you a bunch more horses that you can actually feel.

Then on behalf of those of us that may have gotten you confused with someone else let me say we are sorry. Now back to your topic, why are you considering a cat back instead of a turbo back? I read through some of your other posts and threads and you've mentioned that you want to turn up your boost, engine management, a forged engine block and 4 days ago you were considering a Vibrant turbo back so I'm just wondering why you would even think about a cat back exhaust? Just get the Vibrant and you will be very happy, not to mention you will be in much better shape if you do decide to further mod your MSP. If the Vibrant is out of your price range brand new just watch the for sale thread here http://www.msprotege.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=131 on a regular basis for used exhausts and other great deals.

Yea the corksport is pretty nice. Especially for the price. New its like 350 or so and used you can probably get one for about 200 bucks. Only problem is it is a 2.4 inch and a 3 inch would be better if you're looking towards 250-300 hp later on.

Just to clear myself from about I got a catback b/c I have a custom T3 so a turboback would work for me since the DP is custom.
However if your gonna do it do, and go turboback

03promaz, I have read this several times and still don't understand what exactly you are trying to say.
Now neysha eddie, I understand not wanting to spend a lot of money or not having a lot of money to spend. I also remember when I first got my MSP how excited I was to buy stuff for it but because of that I wasted some money in the beginning so I'm trying to help you avoid that same mistake. What you need to do is figure out what is your goal with this car. Is this going to be your daily driver or are you trying to make a race/track car? I just checked the prices on cat-back exhausts and they are anywhere from $400 to over $600! I got my Vibrant used from another member here on the forum shipped to me for $550. And it was only 3 months old so it was practicly brand new. And as suggested by cmahlig and bacon you could get a brand new "Power Series" exhaust from Corksport for less than a cat-back. Check it out here http://corksport.com/store/category/66ax/MSP.html
And try to figure out what your end goal is for your car and we will point you in the right direction as far as what you should be getting.

Oh yeah, you can definitely buy parts from people here on the forum and it is the cheapest way to go. I've bought most of my stuff used off of other members here on the forum. Have you checked out the for sale section yet? If not click here http://www.msprotege.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=131
And I as well am trying to get the most power out of my stock turbo without forging my motor so I have some advice, just ask. Start by reading this thread to get some ideas http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123677826&page=3
Now my opinion for your particular situation since you have a kid on the way is leave your car stock for the time being and start saving your money. Once you start moding your car is when the real problems can start to come up and you may be without a drivable car. I have two cars and no kids so that is not really an issue for me but if this is your only car I wouldn't do a thing to it till your kid is taken care of.

i am in agreement with you eddie on the not spending money. Don't spend more than you have, and don't spend more than you have to. THAT SAID, you do normally get what you pay for.
If you wanna talk "wasting money," buy a cat back and tell me it was worth it. Just do it. You will get almost no performance boost whatsoever for more reasons than i care to dwell into, so the only thing you benefit is a "totally sweet sounding muffler that looks JDM yo." congrats.
If you up the ante just a bit, then you can ditch your stock cats which may as well be a choke-chain for your pipes and replace them with a single hi-flow to free things up, and go 2.5-3" from the downpipe back. THAT will give you significantly more performance, and is a MUST if you want to up the boost or do anyhting substantial to your car. notice i say MUST. so if you're looking to add more to your mazda, why buy a catback now just to replace it with a turbo-back later?
here are some good options for turbo-backs that you can find:
Vibrant, Thermal, GHL, Apex'i, CS,... anyone care to add?
Decide if you want 2.5 or 3" piping, whether or not you want a cat, and then find your system. All of these are great products.
All that said, i have a Vibrant 3" in my garage looking for a good home because i replaced it with the Apex'i R1 catless. Let me know if you're interested.

I agree with 1moreMPH. Getting a catback exhaust for the MSP is a complete waste of money and you won't gain much as far as whp. If you don't want to ante up the bigger money for the full turbo back exhaust, just buy the catless or single, high-flow midpipe from one of the vendors. SLS Performance (http://www.slsperformance.com/slsp/ListProduct.asp?bSub=T&idCategory=172) makes one for a decent price.

oh yea -- i did forget to mention that. If you can deal with catless, then just buy a catless midpipe from SLS or protegegarage/CS and call it a day. If you're catless, even the skinny stock exhaust piping won't matter that much for a lightly tuned vehicle. But that's more of a cheap fix. It works -- but it's somewhat half-assed if you're after real power.

It also depends on your tastes and budget. Stair stepping the exhaust is doable for most people, which buying an entire exhaust can be an investment too steep. Personally I think the Vibrant is too loud and drones at highway speed. I would have a headache/ringing in my ears after my six hour drive from DC up to Rochester. Everything about that exhaust is great, but the volume was killer. That's what you get with a straight through muffler design though. Putting a catless/single HF cat pipe will keep the volume and droning down and open up the exhaust. Then down the road buy a cat-back of your liking. For me, when I decide to mod it again, would be SLS single cat mid-pipe, Corksport S & J pipes, then a custom 3" pipe system going to a Magnaflow muffler.

Sure that you don't already have one? You posted this pic in another thread and it shows at the least you have an aftermarket muffler. Take a picture of the piping underneath the car and post it when you get a chance.

I just want to make everyone aware that these two screen names are, in fact, the same person .. edward14725 = neysha_eddie. The admin has suspended the earlier account (edward14725), and now only the neysha_eddie account is in use by him.
I believe everybody deserves to know the truth, so .. there it is.
Thread closed. This isn't a thing that's open for discussion, I'm just making everybody aware. Also, since he created threads earlier (via the edward14725 account) about this exact same subject, no need for one more thread on it to clutter things up.
