I have a 2002 PR-5 that needs a new thermostat. 3 of the 4 bolts are easily accessable, the last is impossible to get a socket or standard wrench on. It is blocked by the hard pipe coming off exhaust manifold (which is equally difficult to remove). Any suggestions?

it's only 2 bolts to remove the thermostat...

hard pip off exhaust could be the egr tube...water pump is on the other side isnt it?

Well.....the auto parts store sold me a gasket that he said was required for the thermostat. It matches the part I can't seem to remove. So...the thermostat would be on the lower front left (as you look from the front) not the top right of the head. Correct?

that sounds right. Depends on which side of the engine you're referencing from lol. A pic would be helpful. And yeah, it should only be 2 bolts...

Problem solved. Gasket was not for thermostat. I also got someone to send an exploded view of thermostat replacement. So far, so good. Thanks for your comments.
