i just did it last week, easy to do, if you have abasic tool set and time it can be done without even taking the manifold off. Plenty of people have done it, buy the atp replacement and do it on saturday, hardest part in my opinion was stretching the arm over the wastegate actuator, took me 2 trys..
and then enjoy 8-9 psi :)

I did it with no experience. All it takes is a little preparation, patience (and time), and the right tools and you can do it.
I bought my WGA for like $65 from protege garage IIRC.
Even if you decide to not do it yourself just buy an ATP WGA and have a local shop do the install. It should take like 1 hour of labor with a professional...that's way less than $225 at the shop I go to.

pay a mazda mechanic on the side if your buddy buddy with one. I know one, and it cost me $40 installed, some mechanics there are so used to doing it. And get an aftermarket wga, some of the ones mazda sells are bad already. They open to early.

Do it yourself and see how fun it is! I'm kidding. It's not that hard, it's just very time consuming and you need patience. Anyone can do it in an hour or less if you have the right tools/size. And all you'll have to do is spend $65 for the ATP WGA and an hour or 2 on the weekend. Good luck!

Yeah...I wish I had one of those when I did it. a good set of reaaaaallly long pliers and a death grip did enough after three tries though.
