i was just wondering if there is that noticable of a diferance between a j-pipe back exhaust system and an s-pipe back exhaust system. From my knowledge and what i have seen on friends cars a turbo car has much to gain with the replacement of the factory downpipe but is it that noticable on our cars at factory boost levels or maybe up to 10psi

yes, it makes a big difference. replace the whole downpipe too, don't cheap out and leave the stock s-pipe.

just curious have you ever found a dyno comparing that statement? if there is one will you link me (not being sarcastic)
ive heard that it makes a huge diff to do the s-pipe and i have also heard that it is not worth all the extra money to replace the s-pipe.

i'm not saying the s-pipe alone makes a big difference but it makes enough to be worth replacing. do it right the first time.
search for dynos between the GHL/iON and corksport/vibrant.

i want to run a cutout on a custom midpipe. replacing those 2 is more expenisve than i would like to spend. with the cutout would the gains be comparable to running a full turbo back

those arent really legit comparisons. the exhaust will be on 2 different cars (different conditions). we need to see a test with both ways on one car in the same day.

i agree, and that was what i was hoping someone would present is a dyno difference a nice s-pipe tacks almost 400 dollars onto the exhaust cost and to be honost the time and P.I.T.A factor makes me wonder if it is even worth doing or if just runing a j-pipe and cat-back would be close to the same level of performance gains i don't see how a 8-12" portion of piping that is semi-restrictive could leave enough to be gained to make it work the time, money and nuckle skin that would be lost on the install of a s-pipe

i would say without seeing significant gains on the dyno, for your case (wanting max of 10 psi), you should just fuck the s-pipe and go j-pipe back. you oughta look into the vibrant. awesome exhaust at a good price. very high quality piece.

i agree -- not totally worth it to replace the S-pipe for minimal gains. especially at under 10 boost. I may have a vibrant up for sale, pm me.
