im just jealous that you can dig in to the tranny like that -- i would not be able to do that to save my life haha. i also wish i had a welder, and were a lot better at it than i am :/. good luck on the second go 'round. how'd you manage to tear it up in a week though seriously??

Sad part is, by the time everything is done again... you might have been closer to getting a QUAIFE.

haha its really not that hard at all, theres agreat write up on here somewhere that helped me tons!!, and im a mechanic so i just got it towed to work and had all my recorses there, but im sure you could do it! if you do decide to dig into it and you run into any problem pm me and i got your back lol.
i dont know how i managed that lol, just went around a corner with it on the floor and when the tires finally caught at the end of second the diff diddnt like it... finally got it towed to work tonight gonna get it all apart tomorrow,
and i definetly wouldnt be close to a quaif sp? cause its all free for me cause i do all the labor!... maybe that the problem lol. i wish i could afford that though!!

Quaife is the way to go. It's still hurting me from when I purchased it but I have peace of mind that it will never break again. I also sent out the gears to get cryo'ed while I waited for it to come in so I should be good on the trans side of things.

Don't keep rewelding that broken lsd back up. It won't hold.

Don't keep rewelding that broken lsd back up. It won't hold.Ths is exactly what I was thinking. The metal will just continue to fatigue and get stressed won't it?
Next time it breaks,it might be into pieces and do damage internally to the tranny.
Might be time to bite the bullet and get at least a replacement MSP one.

Before you put it all back together can you measure diameter on the axle @ the spline.. That would be AWESOME if you could..
