Hey everyone, well i just got my car back today cause i put new 9mm Nology Hotwires in my Mazdaspeed Protege cause it was having serious idle problems, it was suggested that i had a cut in my old Sparkplug wires which cause the bad idle cause the spark in one of my chambers wasnt grounding so i replaced the wires but on my way home it had a rough acceleration and would sputter occasionally, but later on in the day i drove it again and had no problems except for when i braked then my idle dropped alittle then went right back up again, could it be my ECU adjusting to the new wires or is it somthing else???

Sorry I'm just cutting and pasting from the other guys post.
I wanna help as much as I can but just don't have the time.
Trying to fix my own MSP :D

That particular topic has 3 general solutions for most cases.

Clean MAF
Clean EGR
Clean IAC

This could also be a vacuum line issue.

Id try those 3 things first and then reset the ecu after your done
(might as well you'll have the negative battery terminal off anyway)

first guess is vac leak.

Searching may also help.

MSP's just have idle problems, alot of the solutions suggested only work for a while in most cases, Unless it was a vac leak. Ihave 2 and they both do it. Ive seen all the threads for fixing it and they only seem to work for qwhile as i have done a few myself.
