i'll admit the SRT-4 is quite a number, but the real-world numbers itself speak more.

funny how the hot compact of 5 years ago was "fast car for under $20K," now all of these are about $26K. Nearly 30% inflation in 5 years?

the power, performance, ammentities have gone up a lot too. There are still some sport compacts nearer to $20K(still not under though)...Cobalt SS, Cvic Si, SE-R

yeah, but what happened to the real manufacturer battles like in the 60's and 70's. What else could have produced the hemi dart and the COPO camaro? ammenities? I think not!

The GTI sure held sure held its own lap time wise for being the runt of the litter.
