The Nismo 350z has the JGTC look to it.

We're talking track day cars, and I don't care if it looks like an Aztek: S2000 CR is a track car. 350Z Nismo...not so much. Weight FTL.

I went to a White Mountain BMWCCA (NH) end of year track event this past sunday and there was a Nismo 350z and a S2000 CR there. The 350z was alot faster around the course then the S2000 CR. Both cars were being driven by instructors.

How much is "a lot"? I know instructors for auto-x here who are MUCH faster than others. Not saying that's necessarily the case here, but I don't know that it's not, either. Some people are instructors because they're good drivers. Others are instructors because they're good teachers.

There is a huge power and torque difference, but also almost 600 lbs in weight difference. That'll make a HUGE difference on the track.

The 350z would pass the S2000 in the straights and the S2000 would catch it in the corners and pass. So it was back and forward every session they were on the track.

By the way it was not auto-x.

I voted for the Z because I want one. But I am a big fan of convertibles and the S fits that match with me as well.

Tinman's logic FTW. S2000CR all the way.

there's a reason the CR will be an A Stock champion and the 350Z will remain as a B Stock also-ran.

i wouldn't complain if either showed up in my driveway, though.

That makes a lot of sense. On a different track, then, one or the other might have had a clear advantage.

Sorry, I didn't think it was auto-x. Just relating my own experience, since I have yet to do a track day. In auto-x, it would be no contest at all.

Auto x = S2000 CR

Road Course = Nismo 350Z

Even on a road course, I'd think it would matter how tight the course was. I am perfectly willing to head over to Road Atlanta, though, and let you know how they both do there, if you can get the cars.

On the track, I'll pick the S2000. To own, it will be the 350Z all day long.

I would take the 350 because I can't drive a S2000. Unless they added leg room I have a better chance driving with my knees rather than my hands.

couldnt put it any better. These cars are designed more for track than street. That its ever gonna be used on a track, very rare, and thats why i think most people will choose the 350. However, thrill of driving goes to Honda.

The honda looks like a girl car. I'll take the 350. But wait, I wouldn't pay that much for either car.
