just got a 2002 silver protege5 and signed up for the boards. really cool community going here, which i hope i can attribute to =).

i love the car to death and it's so fun to drive :). it has 60k miles but i need to fix the door lock actuators on 3 of the doors :(. i plan on putting a system in there, getting the windows tinted, and now i need recommendations on what to do to the engine (already planning on getting a new cold air intake).

You shouldn't expect to gain much in power, unless you turbo, which will make your car high maintenance :)

Good choice on the car. I've had mine 3 years and still love it. The mods in my sig are pretty much a minimum. They basically constitute the must-have mods for this car. (angel)

Welcome...damn another silver P5...Lets hear what Riken's got to say about this...The basic is pretty much intake, headers and catback exhaust..there are tons to choose from, as for headers there are OBX, reactive and some others that have been discontinued but keep an eye on the F/S section for some killer deals

If I may; I suggest the first mod be a short shifter.

I can't praise my SS enough, and I believe you will find that most on the forums share my opinion.
