HORRIBLE squeal coming from MSP!

There is a horrible sound coming from under the dash board. It sounds like its coming from the passenger air bag area. Here are some of my observations:

1. Squeal/screech sound comes on only at highway speeds
2. When I let off gas, the screech is still there
3. Comes on at RANDOM times, esp when there are high cross winds
4. Sound is intermittent like morse code-ish
5. When sound is on, I feel the car moving to one side and I have to turn wheel a little to offset it
6. Annoys the hell out of me

So I think its the wind making something whistle, but I have no idea where to start to fix this problem. Thanks in advanced!

Could be something vibrating. Take everything out of your glove box and see if it changes.

Yeh I'll give that a try. The squeal is LOUD. I have the music pretty loud on the highway, AND this sound will ruin it all

Do you normally drive alone? See if you can get someone to ride along to se if you can trace the noise. Probably the vent is stuck partially open or maybe a plug fell off of the firewall. Really hard to tell what it can be until you find it. Good luck.

Yeh I'm usually alone. I'm gonna pull off what ever I can and have a friend look in it. What sucks is that it doesn't always happen. And I'll need to get on the highway everytime to attempt to get the sound going...

i had a similar problem,
check the big rubber plug looking thing on your firewall, its where the ecu wires come in from the engine bay to the inside of the car.... its beneath the glove box, under the carpet by the pass feet... look at it from the engine bay

Ok I'll take a look. Is it the wires vibrating causing the sound then?

i get a little squeak from there every now and then...I usually open and close the glovebox or just hit something in that area and it usually stops lol...
