hey guys i have the injen CAI and i know that you hear a sucking sound from it when you hit the gas but recently i've been hearing more of a whistling sound. . . does anyone know what this can be? i've had the intake for about 3 years or so on car and this is the first time something like this has happened. it seems to drive fine its just more of a whistle now than a sucking sound

When I had a whistling sound emanating from the engine bay it came from a leak in my exhaust. Specifically, the flange on my Apex j-pipe had separated a little from the exhaust pipe itself. Once the crack was repaired there was no more whistling.

is your vacuum pressure, or boost pressure lower than usual? i noticed you had a gauge in your sign, thats why im asking.

Other than the turbo whistle which is low, I don't get any whistling sound from my Injen. If you can hear it at idle you might have actuator issues. See that MSP pdf in the Protege Garage section for details.

my boost and vac pressure is normal. . . i'll check my exhaust to see if there are any leaks there. i don't hear it at idle, only when i accelerate and go into boost. . . like i said before though it use to sound like more of a sucking sound and now its more of a high pitched whistle

yeah probably normal, i got a injen cai and that thing makes sooo much sucking noise its crazy, wouldn't classify it as a whistle so much though.
