Yes you do have to remove the bumper to remove the back reflectors...or you could jsut simply buy some static cling window tint 20% and cut it to fit...I took plain reflector tape made for trailers that is like silverish and it matches the body color really well its icc bumper tape is actually what i used

bump. has anyone confirmed that you need to take off the rear bumper to get at the back reflectors?
Yep. seems to be the only way.

Side rear reflectors pop out from the backside of the fender. You can lay under there and push on a tab on one side with a screwdriver to pop them out.
The rear ones are screwed in from the backside of the bumper and require at least partial removal of the bumper to get at the screws.

what would probably be easiest is to just order some blank smoked film from rockblocker or bluebatmobile or lamin-x and apply it and cut the excess off. i painted my side markers with hobby tint and it washed off after a few times...

I was able to remove side markers on my MS6 by removing three plastic screws and retainers that hold the wheel well covers closet to front, and access and remover markers that way. Only took about 5 minutes.

different for ms3. the ones on the side can be removed without taking the bumper off. but the ones on the back need bumper removal

Rear side reflectors pop out I used a small flat head and carefully pried out. Here is the tutorial for doing the other ones (by the license plates) you must remove the bumper but its not too hard.
