i have the hiboost fmic kit and the old-school HKS installed with it. I have been recirculating it back through the intake with no problems for 5-6 months now. For shits and giggles i took off the recirc pipe so i could vent, seeing if i could run it open-vent after getting tuned. no joy. However, i did notice that it leaks like a drunken sailor even at idle. When idling air pours out slowly and steadily, and when throttle is applied, it blows out quite strong.

1. If i am recirculating, should this cause any trouble at all? (obviously open-vent it will.
2. if i replace it with a new bov, will my boost increase?

Right now i have the unichip EBC tuned to 9.5psi after the initial spike of 12ish, and it holds rock-solid at that 9.5, no fluttering or anything. No problems with idle or driving while it's recirculating.

I just don't want to replace my leaky bov, only to find out that i will now boost 14psi after a 18psi spike. that would be bad. im not sure if the EBC would accomodate or what? thanks (headbang).

well im no expert here but at idle your in vacuum, so maybe bov stays open a little at idle and closes tight at boost.. as the pistion in the bov is pushed by the psi pressure when in boost.. at idle, nothing pushes over the piston and the spring MIGHT keep the bov from closing tight.. maybe you can adjust it?

maybe im totally out also..

but it seems logical.

hmm... i havn't checked it under boost, but i didn't think it was supposed to be open at all except to relieve the pressure when you let up on the throttle. and it's a non-adjustable bov.
