So I got a CS FMIC and the front license plate blocks most of it. Anyone know of any good options to get it out of the way? Like something thats swings or retracts as you drive and comes back down as your idle?

Best I can find so far are these options:

I can't do that because I'm making some custom fog lights for the side vent area. It would block the fog lights if I did that.

Everyone I know has it suction-cupped to a corner on the inside of the windshield...

i would definitely not want to have a sharp metal object on the inside of the windshield. wut happens when you get in a wreck, your passenger loses his or her head...

I am wanting to add some small fog lights. But am not sure if the license plate will block the light out put. Im thinking no. But Im not sure.

I did them same thing as AlexB but on the other side. I will post pic tomorrow. It has great clearance for FMIC and CATZ Yellow Fogs.

They're, like, really strong suction cups, though...

on mine i drilled two holes in the little black lip that goes around the bottom of the bumper and zip tied it there. The rule in oregon is it must be in plain view from the front of the car on the bumper and can not hang any lower then the lowest part of your wheels

well when the glass shatters, what will the suction cups hold onto? its your car i was just suggesting that putting it inside the windshield was probably not the safest place.

I have seem some guys in Chicago put them on the sun visor and flip it down when they park. I was thinking about this a few years ago on my turbo samurai project, with a FMIC. I was going to drill as many larger size holes (like quarter or half dollar size) into the front plate as possible for it to maintain it's integrity them take screen of some kind and place it behind it and paint in all the areas that I removed to give it the proper look from a distance. That way the plate could still be over the FMIC but I can still get air through.

I dont know about other states but in Missouri if you have your front plate inside the car you WILL get a ticket or atleast get hassled for it. It doesnt even say anything about it on the website. Just says alot bs and mainly in clear site. Its a risk I wont take.
