View Full Version : black soot from tailpipe

I was scolded from an old man in a prius at a stoplight. He said that i was polluting the earth and should be ashamed that i was driving a sports car. He said the soot coming out of my tail pipe was leaving a big carbon footprint and that i should watch "An inconvenient truth."
When the light turned green, I dumped the clutch at 3k rms's and left a cloud of smoke around the prius. I wish people would mind their own business.

that south park episode is the best ive seen for a few years.
Fuck pricks like that, I hate when people get at you ever since this CO2 bullshit, and in UK we really get fucked for having high co2, any vehicle over 225g/km (this engine produces 231) is £300 a year in tax rising to £400 next year and im paying my dues for having a high emission car for some twat to be nearly starting a fight on me for "owning an unnessecary car".

That shit just doesn't happen here in Vegas. I guess there are two many Hummers, Cadillacs, Mercedes G-Wagons, etc.

Besides, this car is 2007-2008 Emissions compliant.

The dude probably pollutes more CO2 out of his mouth with his hot air than your car does. Maybe he should think about kicking the bucket to reduce his carbon footprint from all the hot air coming out of his mouth. More carbon pollutants were created during the manufacturing of the stupid ass monster batteries in his hybrid car than whats created during the life of your car. Not to mention the dumb ass has to replace his batteries every few years creating even more carbon.

In reality a prius is more detrimental to the environment than many people think. To get the materials for the battery in the prius the metal must be mined which uses a substantial amount of energy. Just think, all of that energy and pollution to prep the raw materials to create the battery is no better or even worse than a gasoline powered car.

I think you may be kidding, but I'm not sure.

I'd say if that is something you are actually considering you might think about getting the 2.0 Mazda3 (either a whole car or the engine). It's a PZEV (partial zero emissions vehicle) which puts it in the bottom 10% of emissions for that model year, somewhere near the Prius. I don't think the gas mileage will be as good though.

It would take much less cash & time to reflash your ecm with the NATOR EXTREME green tune

you can also add a soot regen filter system to your exhaust!

do this and you might win a peace noble award and feel good about yourself

your best bet is on www.algore.com, scroll down to contact us. i'm sure they can direct you to the regenerator you need. like the internet, he created the regenerator. little known fact.
or, you could rent a 2008 diesel truck and take the dpf off and stick a test pipe in place. make sure you take the ecm hardware that goes with it.

good luck.

ok, i tryed the link you gave me but i had no luck. i called
1800 IAM- AASS (moon)
which was the contact phone number for Mr. Al Gore. all i got was a voice mail saying he couldn't reach the phone because he was either floating in his heated pool or he was flying around in his mass consuming, fossil fuel burning, private jet, lecturing on how to save the planet by being a hypocrite. i'm really interested in purchasing the soot regenerator for my

I need it to go along the forward mounted bb gun under the front hood mod posted by some guy a few months ago. Does anyone know who is working on the oil slick deployment mod? I want to email them, I have a few ideas.

Both the smokescreen and the inadvertent oil slick can both be yours simply by replacing the exhaust with a free-flowing aftermarket one, from the turbo-back. The floating crappy seals of the turbo will automatically provide what you are after.

IF you ever got a Prius to go 80MPH, did you know that it has the worst brakes of any car you can buy? According to Road & Track, 80 to 0 stopping distance is 256 feet, which is even worse than most of the fat pig SUV's out there. MS3 is stellar, of course, right at 200.
Prius also handles very poorly -- it and the Scion Xb share the lowest skidpad numbers of any car you can buy in North America. Surprising since both are light cars. Hopefully none of us will get hit by some Prius driver and their tinkerbell brakes and shitty out of control handling.

But they're regenerating! LOL! So, you get a smashed front end of a Prius, and recharged batteries...

I was out with a buddy once in his truck, Ford Super Duty Dually with the diesel, massive Magnaflow exhaust, and a power programer. He about to pick up some turbo goodies, but I digress.

We were at a light when some dick in a Pious rolled down his window and started waving at us. I rolled my window down and he was all bitching about how we were killing the enviroment and all that shit.

Ever see what comes out of the tail pipe of one of those trucks when power braked to damn near red line? All but painted his pretty new silver Pious Diesel Soot Black.

Bottom line, South Park got it right with "Smug Pollution."

blkMs3th
10-31-2007, 04:48 PM
hybrids are a good idea (south park agrees as well), but it's weird to think if someone was worried about foot print, going with a used corolla with a 100k on the clock (or a similar vehicle) has less impact than a new prious. The new car needs to be made (factories) and transported, but I guess its harder to feel self righteous.

I lived in SF for 8 years and the most self righteous are the bicycle riders, but as every fool out here has a prious (and drives it alone during rush hour) they all blend in.

blkMs3th
10-31-2007, 05:32 PM
Open the door when they ride by...that'll take the self rightousness outa them.

hah! But I might get patchouli oil or dread locks on my paint - you ever try to get that off?

What many have no clue about is how coal burning is one of the biggest problems not to mention steel production, plastics, trash burning and many other pollutants that contribute FAR MORE to the "Inconvenient Man-Bear-Pig Truth" than cars do.

That's why I just laugh at self righteous nitwits-- they don't understand what they believe in. Just tell the Prius guy that he's too stupid to really know what he's talking about and that he should go straight home and turn off his air conditioner, his heat, his television, and then not go anywhere for anything other than work.

It's not about saving the environment. It's about feeling good about yourself.

Ever read the saying "Save the environment, kill yourself"?

We all have an impact on the environment. Some more than others.

+1. Why do you think the Accord Hybrid didn't sell well? It didn't look enough like a Hybrid.

Whenever I have to deal with smug Pious owners, I just point them to the nearest google image search, and tell them to look up images of the mines where they get the material for the bateries in the car.

I made a crack about nailing self righteous bikers by opening a car door. Robin2660 took it as a personal offense, and I just kept joking about it while he thought I was personally threatening his family or something. I just pretty much said whatever and left it at that.

Now Iracemine has taken personal offense as well, and called me out on behalf of all the "chi town" bikers. It took me a few seconds to realize he meant Chicago because I'm not all hip and cool and down with the street talk. So then he told me to rape my daughter (???) which I've found odd because I don't have any children.

And because I currently live in Texas, I'm a red neck. The fact that I was born in Boston and lived in the Middle East (Dubai) till I was nine must not be relevant. Texas I guess automatically equals red neck, and I guess red necks rape daughters?

BluMicaR

I...lived in the Middle East (Dubai) till I was nine

Not that I want any part of this odd flame war... But I just had to point out if you're an assumed redneck because you live in TX now, then at this point you've all but proclaimed a Jihad having come from the Middle East, and the Chi-town bicycling gang is likely on it's way south to beat up some t'rr'ists for dubyah, one Lance Armstrong at a time.
