Im looking into possibly getting the shark fin antenna for my mazdaspeed3 but first have a couple questions. Somebody who already has one what would be the dimensions (LxWxH). Also i would like to ask what do you all think about having a black shark fin on a true red? i like how the black stubby looks as an accent on the hood so maybe having a black shark fin would look really sharp, thats if its about the same size as the stubby. Has anyone already done this with they'rs, as in not having it painted they'r factory color?

I'm pretty sure everyone has painted theirs.... best thing to do is find a pic and someone who has photoshop

imo, it would like like a blemish on an otherwise beautiful car

Hope this helps.

Hi!

Did anyone install one? I have a new 08 and birds like to drop bombs on black mica, so I will keep it covered at work- antenna gets in way a lot. I am interested in getting that shark fin thingy but I am nervous about removing factory installed base.

Any pics, tips or or such?

Thanks

You don't remove base just unscrew the antenna

Thx for the info, I am placing it on my x-mas wish list. Looks good on your car.

Ive got one too. The paint job on mine was subpar.. I had to fix it by wet sanding it than buffing it with various compounds and polishes. I got mine on ebay for $55 shipped.

you can fit the Sirius antenna inside but if you want the wire not to look stupid ya have to do some fab work and make it come down through where the stock one does i had to pull the headliner down then dremel a little grove in the stock base for the sirius wire to go down though but it looks a lot better than a wire comin out of the shark fin to the hatch imo
