I was wondering....is turboing my 3 even legal? Also, is there some way to make it look a little more discreet so that cops won't pull me over cause they see the FMIC and don't mistake it for a radiator lol?

unless the kit you buy is street legal then no its not legal. you can alway paint the front mount intercooler black so it wont be noticable(well you would probably want to powdercoat it for longevity)

Yea paint the IC black but don't use normal paint and don't powder coat. There is a special paint designed for ICs that I saw one time. Sorry but I don't have a link to it but I know it exists. Try searching for it.

there is nothing illegal about adding an aftermarket turbo kit to the car unless you remove parts of the emissions system

should I maybe think of putting in a different grille?

florida no emissions, they going to try to bring them back i heard. but its not illegal to turbo the car or upgrade as long as noise, and emissins pass required tests buy your state.

Mods that interfere with exterior lighting or your view out the windows are a risk, along with anything that adversely affects your emissions system or causes more than allowable noise are the only things they can bother you about. Improving performance without affecting emissions or noise isn't illegal.

when i used to live in florida i saw some guy in like...a 1975 toyota truck with a wooden back bumper and no front bumper....unless you consider his radiator a bumper, in that case he had a bumper.

aaaaand a kid in the area belonged to a club and he had an old junker and threw some hydrolics on it. (yes it was very funny) he would drive over this bridge with it slammed to the ground and drag the body of the truck. parts would fly off behind him and everything. it was sweet. cops would see the truck all torn apart and keep driving by. awww, i miss florida. lol.

No laws in Indiana. LMAO. Really, just speeders and it seems that's about it. I REALLY don't think a cop would EVER pull you over for seeing a FMIC behind a grill on your car. I don't think they even pay THAT much attention to stuff they don't have to - like they know your make and if you make too much noise or have too dark a tint, your plates, if a brake light is out... But I don't think they're eyeballing modifications or engine specs and such to pull people over.
