View Full Version : Need help from someone who hasnt pulled off their moldings yet
Can you please measure the distance between the bottom of your molding on both front and back doors to the bottom of the door?
Going to put the moldings back on.. not really feeling the shaved look right now.
Please? Anyone? I dont have access to another speed or mazda3 and would really appreciate it if someone could measure the moldings for me.

If you wait until about 4pm est I will measure mine when I get home for you.
Put them where you like them, there is no rule and no definitive place that will avoid all dings.
I suppose I could do that, but I'd like them to be as close to the factory location as possible.
It's not for the risk of door dings that I'm replacing the moldings. I just dont like the way it looks w/o them.

Between 28.5 And 29.5 Cm Depending On What Door And Where You Take The Measure. I Used A Metal Tape Measure, Wrapping Slightly Around To Conform To The Door From The Bottom Edge Of The Door. Whoops, Left Cap Lock On, Sorry!
Cool, it automatically changed caps to lower case!

I spaced this last night, sorry! Let me know if Ecnie's measurements don't work, I will do it the second I walk in the door from picking the kid up from school at 340.

It's 11.25" from the top of the molding under the door, to the bottom of the thin door molding. I used a flexible yard stick and put the bottom against the flat surface of the under-door molding and bent it up along the door.

That is eqivalent to 28.5 cm, so we are both very close. So somewhere in that range would appear stock I guess.
