My car is not doing so good. I don't know what's going on. I have a couple of ideas but can't put my finger on it. I was driving on Friday. I was sitting in traffic when all of a sudden my car died. I was like what the hell. So I tried starting the engine but it didn't start. I almost started to but it didn't catch. so I pushed the car to the side of the road and try to start the car again. After about 5 or 10 minutes the car finally started and barely might I add. Ever since then I had a check engine light and first gear jerks a lot, and every gear after starts to jerk somewhere around 3000-4000 RPMs and higher. I got the CEL checked out and it was 2 codes. 1 was P0420 and the other one I can't remember. The mechanic told me that I need to get a new Camshaft positioning sensor. I got that and switched it out and still I get the jerking problem. I am thinking it's because my car is misfiring, or my clutch is about to go out and the car is trying to keep itself alive or something. Does anyone have any ideas?

you should take ur car to the dealer. could be misfiring or could be ur fuel pump. you should check to see if u r holding fuel pressure. good luck.

sounds like mine one time when the maf was going bad.
P0420 - 2nd O2 sensor or catalytic converter if I'm not mistaken.

I checked that out recently I got the spark plugs changed a couple of months ago as well as the ignition coils. that's what is so crazy.

And still getting the issue? Mmm i got a similar problem with my audi and it was the cam sensor, try that (2thumbs)

brilliant strategy, just start throwing parts at it

P0420 was one cel, what was the other?

any recent mods?

I think the other is P01380 I think.

Do you hear any metallic rattling coming from your engine? My car jerked at that rpm when a screw was bouncing around in cylinder 1.

if there was a rattling sound what could it be? just one of the screws in the engine is loose?

I think you mean the code is po138, meaning rear oxygen circuit is seeing to much voltage. Mix that with code po420 and that pretty much means your rear oxygen sensor is done for. Might also mean your catlytic converter went bad too. How many miles on car? Also check your warrenty because even if your regular warrenty is expired, usually your warrenty for emissons eqiupment lasts a longer.

Did some more thinking. If your rear sensor is seeing to high of voltage, it means your cat is not doing its job properly. So more then likely it I feel you might need a new cat. Also should get the sensor replaced since they tend to go with higher mileage cars.

find a shop that can test for cat converters. if the cat checks out good then chances are it's your rear O2 sensor. if the cat checks out bad then you found your problem.

In my case, it was a VICS manifold screw that got into the cylinder :(
