not sure this triviality thread goes here or not...

it seems like my dash lights are way too dim even when turned to max

i'm wondering if there's a bulb out?

there's a bright spot at the '7' in the tach, maybe it's a cute way to let you know you're around redline?

there are no other bright spots- should there be? are they all this dim/crappy?

if a bulb is out, is it easy to fix or will it leave the dash all misaligned?

thx

If the lighting is uneven, I'd say a bulb or two is blown. Replacing isn't hard - the hard part for me was finding the proper bulb. I think there's a how-to on removing the bezel but the gist is: remove screw on top side of cover, pull off cover, remove three screws holding cluster in, pull cluster partially out and disconnection plugs, then remove cluster. The covers can be removed by undoing various snaps. It's easy, really.

Go to AutoZone and pick up a set of 194R bulbs. They're a bit bigger, but they fit, are brighter, and have a nice red glow too.
