Does the ms3 share the same 2nd fuel pump as the ms6 does? ( i assume that it does) but was wondering how guys were getting past the said 300 whp limit of the cam driven fuel pump without replacing it? The few posts that I have seen with that much or more hp do not mention the pump unless I missed it.

it is the same pump. the ms3 can hit about 310-320 hp before the pump quits. the few with more power than that use meth. injection. it allows more timing to be ran, and cools the aircharge, but it uses zero extra fuel.
its just a pain in the ass to heve on a daily driver. you have to watch your fluid levels all the time, cuz if you run out while heavy on the throttle.........BOOOOMMM !

The 3 gets better numbers b/c there are less drivetrain losses. The 6's all wheel drive eats about 30 whp. Now if we could just stop breaking our rear diff mounts, we could use the power get like it ought to be....

im waiting for a company to start making upgrades. its probably not going to be out for a while. I dont know why though because the stock ones can be rebuilt to feed more fuel like APR does for the stock audi cam driven pumps.

the cam pump can handle over 315 whp....am i mistaken on this? i thought the fuel cut was just from the ecu which can be fixed by a controller or fuel cut defender? i mean....to a point anyway, but past 315.

From what I have read on the ms6 side of the world at 300 whp the pump is maxed out and currently there is one replacement aftermarket ( oem rebuilt pump) but is like a grand to purchase....hopefully someone makes one soon so you guys can get past that hurdle.

This is going to sound stupid but just so I understand the limit: the fuel pump cut off at 300HP isnt due to the HP but to the actual fuel flow needed to achieve 300HP right? Just wondering the relationship between HP and fuel pump cutting off.. if it isnt max fuel flow what would it be?

it is max fuel flow. the cam driven fuel pump won't be able to flow more then about 320 to the ground. there are 2 companies that i know of right now re-designing the stock cam driven fuel pump to flow more.

both said about a month to 2 months until available.

i did all of the original research for the pump, and i haven't quit. i'm just hiding a bunch of info from you guys until i know everything 100% and have a solution for you guys. :)

PM for questions as always.

the company that produces them for around $1000 is APR and they only make them for Audi's or VW's. I asked them if it would work on the MS6 and they said absolutley not.

300whp is not where the fuel is maxed. many have surpassed 300whp but I dont think any of made it past 350whp (w/o meth).

The amount of power the shortblock can handle has not been given a hp # yet but it is hit or miss. the stock rods are shit.
