I don't think so.

The costs associated would more than likely be closing in on a KL swap, which I AM very interested in doing.

Additionally, superchargers offer a gain, but not as much as a comparable turbo set up due to the parasitic nature of running something off of a belt that is connected to the crank, it just slows things up.

ANOTHER THING. How would the air path look, last time I checked the belt that the supercharger would run off of if on the opposite side of the engine from the intake manifold's air opening. That would more than likely require some impressive work with tubes to deliver that air.

I'm intersted in supercharging my MP3. I don't want the lag that a turbo has, and I also just like my stuff to be different.

Autoxes, you say that the SC would need some impressive piping to deliver the air? What about the turbo setups? Do you consider that simple? Also, the vortech design is a centrifugal charger (looks like a turbo) and mounts on the tranny side of an engine and is spun from a shaft that is connected to the belts. It's actually a pretty interesting design and vortech offers several kits for hondas, but us mazdas don't get any love.

centrifigal superchargers have lag like turbos and they dont get to full boost until redline as boost gradually increases. My vortech centri on my mustang had about 1 psi at 2k rpm, 3 psi at 3k rpm, 6 psi at 4k rpm, 9psi at 5k rpm, and 10psi at 6k rpm (redline). Whereas if I had a turbo I could have had 10psi at around 3k-4k rpm depending on the turbo size and it would hold all the way up to redline. If your going to go supercharger I would go with positive displacement superchargers. The centri's are nice but they are the low man on the todem pole as far as forced induction goes. they also take power to make power whereas turbos use wasted exhaust gases to make power which is less strain on an engine. Just my opinion.

I have to say vortech is a really good company tho and my supercharger lasted forever and helped my beat alot of cars!
