I was wondering if anyone has heard of Aasco? I called Horsepowerfreaks.com and they said that they are a local company but I have never heard of them. Is 8lbs light? what's the weight of the stock flywheel? what are the pros and cons of a light weight flywheel? Sorry to sound like a noob but just I am cautious.

I was wondering if a 4 puck or a 6 puck better? I am leaning towards the 4 but I am not sure.
Check out the Aasco

the stock is around 14 maybe.. your car will rev up faster because there's less mass for the engine to pull. But you may get rought idle. I been told the Asco is pretty good

Some pictures of the difference between the Assco and stock 1.6L flywheels other than more free revving and a few more horses across the board no other effect noted other than good stuff. With a six or four puck clutch you can slip the clutch all day to lay down the power and not have to worry about breaking anything and when its time to replace the friction discs it can be done cheaply and quickly compared to a new transmission.

I'll include everything you see and new oil lines for the turbo (minus the exhaust flange which I'm selling separate so somebody can make their own 1.6 turbo header). The turbo is a custom Turbonetics T3/4 designed along with the header for the VE of the stock ZM motor spool up start at 2000 rpms. Turbo capable of 24 psi. The Deltagate external wastegate has 10 psi spring in it I'll include 4,6,8 pound springs with spacers and a manual boost controller also has it own down pipe. You'll need to configure your own intercooler pipes and modify the down pipe to mate with your exhaust system as my set up was for modified 1.6 race car. I'll include a some silicone couplers, tbolts clamps, and pipe to assistance in fabing the IC piping. Also included a intake pipe (turbo low pressure side) with an adapter for the MAF sensor is included along with filter. I'll also throw is a set of 440cc WRX injectors. All for $1000.00 free shipping

Sure do :)! I have both the turbo set up and the flywheel and clutch. I'm also including with the turbo set up a Snow Performance methanol injection kit. And with the flywheel and clutch if both at brought I'll include a B&M short shifter with Kart-boy bushings and a Stainless Steel Clutch line.
Thanks,
Dave

Excuse my ignorance but what's the purpose of the friction disc.

Excuse my ignorance but what's the purpose of the friction disc.
It's the part of the clutch system as refered to below as the pressure plate and clutch plate and flywheel area where clutch plate engages it for which I've replaced them all:
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/clutch1.htm
Fly Wheels, Clutch Plates and Friction
In a car's (http://auto.howstuffworks.com/car.htm) clutch, a flywheel connects to the engine (http://auto.howstuffworks.com/engine.htm), and a clutch plate connects to the transmission (http://auto.howstuffworks.com/transmission.htm). You can see what this looks like in the figure below.
Your browser does not support JavaScript or it is disabled.
Exploded view of car clutch When your foot is off the pedal, the springs push the pressure plate against the clutch disc, which in turn presses against the flywheel. This locks the engine to the transmission input shaft, causing them to spin at the same speed.

Pressure plate
The amount of force the clutch can hold depends on the friction between the clutch plate and the flywheel, and how much force the spring puts on the pressure plate. The friction force in the clutch works just like the blocks described in the friction section of How Brakes Work (http://auto.howstuffworks.com/brake.htm), except that the spring presses on the clutch plate instead of weight pressing the block into the ground.
Your browser does not support JavaScript or it is disabled.
How a clutch engages and releases When the clutch pedal is pressed, a cable or hydraulic piston pushes on the release fork, which presses the throw-out bearing against the middle of the diaphragm spring. As the middle of the diaphragm spring is pushed in, a series of pins near the outside of the spring causes the spring to pull the pressure plate away from the clutch disc (see below). This releases the clutch from the spinning engine.

Clutch plate
Note the springs in the clutch plate. These springs help to isolate the transmission from the shock of the clutch engaging.
This design usually works pretty well, but it does have a few drawbacks. We'll look at common clutch problems and other uses for clutches in the following sections.
