Mazdaspeed6 platform???

I'm not sure what the governing rules are but I was wondering why Tri-Point never switched over to the Mazdaspeed6 or at least the Disi Turbocharged engines. BTW, do the cars Tr-Point runs currently use a 2.3l engine or has displacement changed?

As far as i know Tri-point started racing the Mazda 6 before the mazdaspeed or the disi was in production. Plus Tri-point is a manufacturer sponsored racing team so Mazda has a say in what car they want tri-point to race with.
