OK, this may be stupid, but does the MS3 have the guages that have a bluish glow by the numbers on the tach and speedo. Also when you turn the radio off do the two red lines by the volume blink

It's located under a lip below the climate control cluster in the center console. It shines on the cigarette lighter area. If you put your hand under the lip under the climate control cluster you'll see a blue light on your hand.

Follow up question: The owner's manual for the Mazdaspeed3 2007 says you have 5 levels of brightness for the gauges by pressing the top left gauge button, i find only two choices. The always on daylight mode (brightest) and the switch to nightmode when the headlights are on. What are the other 3 levels in between? the lower left dimmer dial seems only to affect the radio lights and blue back lighting.

When the headlights are off you get 5 levels. When they are on you get two.
