Only gonna pay $300 for it, if I get it. I'm wondering if you guys can help me out with a few things:

1) Heater core is bad. The guy is giving me a new one to put in, but how difficult is it going to be? On most of my old cars, it was a huge pain in the rear-end.

2)Automatic seat belts don't slide forward. Is this a common problem? Any ideas on what to check?

3) rear windows don't move. Again, is there anything specific I should look for before just trying to figure it out by process of elimination?

The cruise control and a/c not working are pretty generic problems I think, so I don't have any specific questions about those.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

ugh stupid blower motor.

ok I saw the thing about the automatic seat belts and switching to manual, I'll deal with them later, no problems.

maybe it's just a fuse for the windows, that'd be pretty cool lol.

ugh stupid blower motor.

1)If by that you mean that you meant to say blower motor instead of heater core then it's just looking under the dash on the passenger side and removing it.

2)If it's only one side then it's probably the motor for that seat belt. If it's both belts, it can be either both motors or the unit underneath the driver's seat. If the car was driven through deep water and it got inside the car, it usually fries that unit. It controls the automatic belts so both will not work. It is not a transmission computer as many say. At least it was not on my 94 Protege DX. I sold that unit after a guy wrecked the car. It solved the guy's belt problem.

3)Window regulator motor might be bad or something isn't letting the window move. Look at the window channel for obstructions. Put a light amount of lubrication inside the channel to see if that helps if you hear the motor working but the window not moving or not moving fast enough.

4)Have the A/C checked to see if there's full freon charge in the system. If it's low, there's a leak somewhere in the system and that section will have to be replaced since it usually can't be sealed where it will last. If there's no leak, as usual, the compressor is probably bad. Replace it and also buy the drier/filter or else your replacement compressor will go bad earlier than it should.

I'm not familliar with what makes cruise control systems go bad. However, you might find info by using the search function on the home page of this site. Log in and search for all the above also.
